Rawa Buaya Citizens Request Drain of Jl Dharma Wanita Dredged

Citizens living in RT 02/01, Rawa Buaya, Cengkareng, West Jakarta are requesting the drain along Jl Dharma Wanita to be dredged. They said, the drain is full of mud and cause inundation when it rains.

The drain has not been dredged. Whereas, it is full of mud and garbage from vegetable peddler

Sarifudin (52), a local citizen disclosed, the drain that has almost one meter with 300 meters long is also full of garbage.

"The drain has not been dredged. Whereas, it is full of mud and garbage from vegetable peddler," he told, Monday (12/5).

According to him, due to this condition, the drain is easily inundated when rain pours. And then overflow into the citizen settlement as high as 20-30 centimeters.

"We've requested for normalization from urban village side. But, until now, there has been no further action," he expressed.

When being confirmed, Head of Rawa Buaya Urban Village, Syafwan Busti admitted the drain at Jl Dharma is strewn by mud and garbage. It also caused inundation in the settlement, precisely at RT 02/01.

"We have reported the matter to West Jakarta Water Management Sub-dept. As I heard, normalization will be done this month," he he finished.
